Food Integrated Gardens (FIG) is a permaculture startup that connects people with nature, the land of Israel, and the Jewish festivals.

With your support we can continue to cultivate land, community, and spiritual connection in Jerusalem.

Dear Supporters of FIG,

FIG needs you now more than ever.

The world, since October 7th, has been marked by profound change and challenges. Thousands are displaced, Israel mourns, small farms are struggling, and a pervasive sense of global isolation lingers.

We at Food Integrated Gardens (FIG) have not been immune. Our educational Jewish farm in Jerusalem forest has faced significant setbacks.

The team was disrupted, a farm partner is on the frontlines, and Paz, our founder, has taken the lead in adapting, rebuilding education programs, and single-handedly managing 15 acres of farmland. Despite the emotional, economic, and physical toll, we are resilient in continuing our vital work.

Friends, we need you now more than ever, both for the continuity of the farm itself and to launch the Roots of Resilience project – a gardening therapy initiative on our farm, Har Hayot in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem.

This program directly supports communities affected by the war, fostering healing, cultivating community, and promoting food security and empowerment through regenerative agriculture.

We are launching a campaign to raise $100,000. As we stretch to serve our community, we turn to you to help us, and help others through FIG. Your donation:

  • Sustains FIG during this crisis, while providing healing services to those in need
  • Reconnects displaced communities with therapeutic gardening
  • Fosters resilience in individuals and the community
  • Establishes sustainable solutions for food security in Jerusalem.

The Roots of Resilience Project includes four programs:

  • 1. Garden Therapy Program for Evacuees ($25,000): 2.5 months, 10 full days of somatic body movement, meditation, and permaculture training for evacuees with special guests in multimodalities for therapy facilitation.
  •
  • 2. New Immigrants building resilience ($20,000): 3 months, 12 sessions once a week to empower and integrate new immigrants through gardening.
  •
  • 3. Food Security Essentials Program ($30,000): Expanding the current Mediterranean food forest with integrated vegetable gardens, medicine garden, greenhouse and donation of at least 55% of produce to food-insecure individuals in Jerusalem.

4. Microgreens for Food Security Project Proposal: ( $25,000): Enable families in need to  grow microgreens quickly and sustainably during the war when access to nutrient-dense foods is limited.
