On October 7th, 2023, a devastating attack by Hamas terrorists resulted in the loss of many Israeli civilians and left hundreds of children orphaned. The Israeli Children’s Fund (ICF), also known as Atufim Be'Ahava, was founded with the mission to provide these children with the support they need to rebuild their lives. ICF supports more than 400 children, from infancy to 25 years old, who lost one or both parents during the attack. Many of these children have endured profound trauma—losing parents, siblings, and homes. Some are still displaced within Israel.
To address these challenges, ICF focuses on three main pillars: Financial Empowerment, which allocates funds to recovery, education and life milestones per child to secure their future; Comprehensive Support, acting as a central hub, connecting children and families with vital resources, government benefits and aid programs; and Tech-Driven Impact, leveraging technology such chatbots and digital hubs to streamline access to resources and opportunities.
ICF was founded by a coalition of tech entrepreneurs, nonprofit executives, and affected communities’ representatives. The fund is governed by a board and specialized committees responsible for transparent financial management and resource optimization. With funds raised from partners like the UJA, JFNA, Boston CJP and The Schulich Foundation, ICF aims to raise additional resources to continue supporting these children, ensuring they overcome their challenges and build a brighter future.
